Scope:
The Kitting Crew Leader manages, oversees, and controls the kitting cage following administrative procedures to prioritize and review the planned maintenance work orders that have parts and tools identified by the Maintenance Planners that need to be ordered, received, and staged. The role also monitors and directs labor and mechanical resources, materials, and components to maximize the safety, quality, and efficiency of the kitting process. In addition, the role serves as a point of contact for pay assistance/issues, provides positive feedback to high performers, and, as required, communicates safety, quality, and production information verbally and via written reports, computer postings, and paging systems.
Leadership:
- Manage and lead crew members with the objective of providing the right materials to the right locations at the right time.
- Observe for unsafe behaviors and conditions and correct. Notify plant leadership in the event of a serious accident.
- Assist associates with real-time problems such as a broken radio, water leaks, phones being not operational and help with answers to questions.
- Analyze situations, seeking ways to provide continuous improvement with the processes.
Day-to-Day responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Operate equipment and powered vehicles as required.
- Accomplish the details beyond basic requirements consistent with quality, safety, and environment within the plant business parameters.

- Function as the focal point for transfer of process data within the business teams, receive and disseminate the information for coordination of process operations.
- Work from specifications, written and verbal instructions.
- Check for materials, source materials, and communicate information on planned maintenance work orders as well as gather special tools.
- Determine if materials need to be purchased and assists plant MRO buyer to procure and expedite materials and/or services from suppliers as required.
- Review and track delivery progress and communicate to Scheduler/Planners for approximate lead time and prioritization of jobs in kitting stage.
- Ensure that all the right parts, with the correct quantities are staged and ready prior to scheduling the planned maintenance work order.
- Communicate material receipt status and location of kitted materials to Maintenance Planners and Maintenance Technicians
- Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to reconcile receipts, input location of kit in work order, and change the work order status to show ready to schedule.
- Record all material movements and change order status from kitting cage using CMMS.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area by practicing good housekeeping in and around the kitting cage.
- Work as an integrated team member with the other associates to form a cohesive organization and to demonstrate concerns for the safety of self and others.
- Perform tasks in a self-directed manner.

Basic Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be able to successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment contingencies
- Ability to work any and/or rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime if applicable
- Must have basic computer skills, uses complicated drawings, and understand OSHA Handbooks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, & MS Word
- Ability to collect and analyze data for prioritization and decision making.
- Forklift certification
- Previous management experience preferred
