Primary Purpose of the Position

Act as key enabler of Superior, Complete and Simpler portfolio for 4X4 & Cooper segment.

 

The area of responsibility includes:

  • Definition of Product Innovation Strategy for 4X4 & Cooper segment at the Asia-Pacific level;

  • Product Portfolio Ownership in ANZ markets;

  • Participation and Contribution in Corporate Cycles and Planning;

  • Support in driving global projects and initiatives of the company;

 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

 Asia-Pacific Product Innovation Strategy

  • Innovation strategy definition: Define and execute innovation strategy for 4X4 & Cooper segments to support Goodyear strategy, based on data and market-back analytics;

  • Innovation strategy execution: Support Enterprise Project Leader in driving projects through PCP-Gate process via definition of performance targets, superiority vs competition, and provision of strong rationale from the business;

  • New Product Launch: In cooperation with the Design Marketing team, support communication master package preparation with product-related data for the 4X4 & Cooper segments and projects.

  • Product Superiority: Identify points of superiority and parity versus competition to drive innovation strategy and decisions based on data. Define and analyze performance and portfolio requirements and kick-off gap closure plan;

 Country Product Portfolio Management

  • Product Authorization: Define what, when and how the product will be introduced in ANZ markets. Gatekeep the process of introducing new SKUs in assigned markets to ensure simpler, superior, and efficient portfolio;

  • Range Sufficiency: Identify coverage gaps in existing portfolio of ANZ market via data-driven and market-back analytics;

  • Portfolio Simplification and Rationalization: Reduce portfolio complexity and increase share of flagship portfolio demand in ANZ markets, in line with recommendation from regional product portfolio manager;

Corporate Cycle Contribution and Planning

Support Product Director in preparation and consolidation of the function input towards corporate reports and activities:

  • Monthly Product Review: Govern monthly session for assigned cluster. Prepare and coordinate inputs to ensure quality discussions. Engage with peer functions on agreed action plan;

  • Annual Operating Plan Support: In line with defined innovation strategy, translate key priorities and goals of the company to local business reality, provide assumptions on the business growth from product agenda in assigned markets;

  • Long-Term Planning / RV4C: Support corporate cycle with data analytics (roadmap, forecast, and business assessment) for assigned clusters;

Cross-Regional and Global Initiatives

  • Support and govern special projects triggered by regional office and Product Director;

  • Constant market and competitive analysis for designated area of responsibility, joint collaboration with other regional functions to achieve corporate targets;

  • Collaborate with other Product Managers to consolidate data and present joint input for Product Director on requested topics;

  • Business trips to local markets to closely collaborate and check performance and “situation on the ground” in designated area of responsibility.

 

Experience

  • More than 5 years of experience in product and/or marketing management. Tire Industry is preferable

  • Experience in transferring technical concepts into a strong marketing communications message

  • Experience handling, analyzing and optimizing complex portfolio [multiple SKUs and Sourcing]

  • Project Management: Experience working at a fast pace with varied disciplines and individuals to drive accountability for deliverables

  • Must be able to understand the new product development process

  • Experience in budget management and directing investments

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Story-telling: Ability to work and analyze big massive of data, transfer it into a structured manner, assess gaps, conclude a solution, and present in an understandable format for the target audience

  • Product from the lens of Marketing knowledge

  • Stakeholder management and ability to adapt the message to different target audiences [Executive leaders, Peers, Customers, etc]

  • Agility in prioritizing and executing the agenda with adhoc tasks

  • Team player: understand scope of responsibility about bigger team and target

  • Fast learner and creative thinker: ability to onboard fast into the topic, understand the challenge and drive the solution

  • Punctual and disciplined towards tasks assigned tasks and priorities
