Sr. Procurement Operations Lead

About the role

This role is the senior indirect procurement business partner to initiate, lead and interpret requirements and deploy resources to meet and successfully deliver, business and procurement objectives and financial goals

Proactively provides the collaborative connection amongst local procurement operations, business, global strategic sourcing and global shared services to ensure strategic, operational, and transactional activity is sustainably delivered.

 

In this position you will have a variety of responsibilities that will add value to the wider business including;

  • Directly manages local Procurement Operations and resources by take accountability of procurement financial  and operational performance with the main objective of improving profitability by the implementation of total cost saving initiatives
  • Executes sourcing strategies within geographical scope,  ensuring consistency with Global Indirect category strategies
  • Develops negotiation strategy for local negotiations and actively leads local contract negotiations as required based on criticality or complexity
  • Leads change management efforts geographical area of responsibility and drive improvements.  
  • Ensures appropriate and effective communication is occurring at all organizational levels with consistent messaging
  •  Acts as an escalation point for organizational or cultural change barriers and works to resolve and overcome barriers collaboratively with business partner
  • Develop good business relationships with local and regional suppliers to support business needs, cost saving initiatives and the overall Global Procurement supplier segmentation strategy

 

About you

To be successful in this position you will need to have the following skills and attributes.

  • Minimum seven years of procurement experience with minimum three years of people management experience
  • Strategic sourcing and supplier management experience is essential
  • Demonstrated experience applying change management and project management tools to complete business initiatives
  • Demonstrated cross functional project leadership experience
  • Experience in a related industry preferred; consider experience in professional or facility services, retail, marketing or IT
  • Project Management skills and indirect procurement experience required.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills with an ability to partner effectively with key stakeholders internal and externally
  • Strong financial/statistical analysis and organization skills
  • SAP,  Advanced Microsoft Excel  and other Microsoft Office skills preferred
  • People focused and able to work in a collaborative culture
