Primary Purpose of the Position:

  • Establish and review Motorcycle Race activities to deliver strategic objectives and commercial sales business requirements, contributing to the Product Roadmap, liaising with Motorcycle Road & Race Product Dev Mgr & Sr Manager Consumer Replacement &Motorcycle Dev EMEA.
  • Establish and maintain Motorcycle Race Technical budget. Monitor and ensure alignment to budget.
  • In collaboration with Moto Race Central Business Manager, Quality  Manager Montlucon, drive the development, the industrialization and specification release of the standard Motorcycle Race sales range aligned to the Product Roadmap.
  • Drive the development of new design technologies and innovation within the development team, promoting Advanced Engineering techniques, while developing a culture of quality and conformity of products.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the Motorcycle Development Tyre Design group to innovate, develop and implement new technologies. Requiring collaboration with Motorcycle Development team in Montlucon over the use of shared resources for Advanced Engineering, Mould Design and Quality team.
    Liaise with Manufacturing Director Montlucon and Quality  Manager Montlucon to produce all development tyres and industrialize chosen specifications for production.
  • Ensure compliance with all our internal and external requirements such  Moto2 regulations, Road Race regulations etc...
  • Drive the planning of the development tyre testing throughout the season and its subsequent test tyre program.
  • Create and manage work schedule and event attendance of R&D and Track Support Engineers team in accordance with international work time regulations and laws, in liaison with  local HR departments, while aligned to the requirement from the Motorcycle Motorsport Manager.
  • Willing to travel 30%.
  • Work with Manager R&D Moto Montlucon and design team to ensure rationalization of technologies and materials and strengthen the Race to Road concept.

 

Education:

Specialty in Motorsport or advanced engineering or tyre engineering.

 

 Experience:

  • Minimum 5-6 years experience in tyre industry in design department, quality; production or automotive industry experience will be an asset.
  • 3 years managing cross-functional team work.
  • 2 years experience in New Product Introduction.
  • 2 years In Motorsport environment.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Minimum education level 5 years Master degree.
  • Knowledge of tyre manufacturing processes and machineries.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance & product conformity.
  • Knowledge of Advanced Engineering techniques and software (FEA, Multi-Body, Data Acquisition, etc)
  • Knowledge of programming language such MATLAB or VBA.
  • In depth understanding of tire testing.
  • Solid knowledge of compound development.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office & Microsoft Project.
  • Good internal and external communicator.
  • Fluent in English, other languages are an asset.
