Primary Purpose of the Position:

 

To devise, organise and execute a Motorcycle Racing Operation for events worldwide.

Operating from France, delivering to track and providing race servicing (tire fitting) at best quality, within agreed budgets, regulations and standards (EHS) and with requested flexibility to suit Motorcycle fast changing environment and needs.

 

For this to capture operational demand from Sales / Event managers and to manage relations with other internal stakeholders as Supply Chain, EHS, Procurement, R&D, Finance and external stakeholders such as service providers and non-EFS carriers.

 

Organize and execute Motorcycle Racing fleets, internal and external transports, equipment, fitters, merchandise & uniforms, at best quality & cost possible to provide service adequate to business needs.

Organize maintenance of Motorcycle Racing fleet and equipment at best quality & cost possible to ensure forth-going top-level operation service.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Build the most cost effective and highest quality Motorcycle Racing Operation that will enable us to provide all races with right size of fleet and staffing at best price, offering a race event fitting service that will be adequate to the needs of the of the race teams
  • Establish appropriate level of staff to service race events each season
  • Select, recruit, and manage the staff (contracted, sub-contracted and/or seasonal)
  • Prepare costs for race events comparing in-house to external options with Service Providers (SPs)
  • According to workload and cost, decide on potential race activities and/or services to be subcontracted
  • Investigate and establish high-quality level of service from external SPs that will be on a par with our works service
  • Build criteria for selection and auditing of external SPs to ensure a well maintained, high level of service that will be marked against customer feedback
  • Monitor service provider performance to ensure the highest standards are maintained
  • Create a maintenance regime that will ensure that European regulations are adhered to and manage through local service providers
  • Prepare CAPEX proposals to replace trailers, tractors, vans, buses and fitting machines/equipment as required
  • Regularly review processes and procedures to implement continuous improvement and cost reduction action plans
  • Ensure training of staff on both technical but also EHS related requirements
  • Recording, checking and reviewing level of knowledge on regular basis

 

Education/Qualifications:

 

  • Degree or similar in Management, Engineering (preferable) or a commercial discipline
  • Previous experience in running a logistic department or a truck fleet
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role within the Motorsport or Motorcycle industry
  • Extensive knowledge of Car and Motorcycle Race Market, including, organisational structure, championship structure, key players FIA, ACO, etc.
  • Knowledge / understanding of logistic and organisation processes and best practices
  • Advanced Goodyear Dunlop systems IT skills: SAP, etc.
