Primary Responsibilities:
- Direct and lead the implementation and ongoing execution of quality, cost, and delivery initiatives to support the Napanee plant with the goal to continuously improve upon operating results to further enhance our customers’ total quality experience.
- Understand all product/process related specifications and procedures (corporate and local) for the assigned area and ensure the area is meeting or exceeding those requirements.
- Coordinate activities for effective identification, analysis and correction of defects by determining the effects of machine, tire design and process changes on product quality and take necessary action.
- Audit and ensure accurate and statistical reports for tracking process and quality related items and make recommendations for implementation of solutions.
- Analyze product irregularities and recommend corrective action.
- Work in partnership with on-shift managers to evaluate and manage quality performance trends.
- Achieve and sustain business results by leading and directing team efforts to accomplish customer and business plan performance goals.
- Identify and facilitate the removal of barriers that impact team success
- Audit process and product to confirm operation to specification, and initiate tire containment if necessary
- Gather and record data, and issue reports based on findings.
- Interface with Quality Support Coordinator, Team Leaders , production technicians, production support technicians, Shift Operations managers and business center staff on a continuous basis for matters concerning process performance and product acceptability
- Teach, mentor and provide feedback to production technicians regarding internal process and product specs as well as customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field is required
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience is required
- Background in quality tools (MSA, FMEA, PPAP, control plan, statistics, Minitab, PDCA or DMAIC) is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Energize the team and maintain a positive attitude toward peers. Provide positive constructive feedback. Plan and lead meetings.
- Give clear and concise technical guidance. Manage/deflect/diffuse conflict. Lead in finding alternative solutions.
- Personal computer skills in a networked environment (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
- Candidates must be highly energized and be adept at communicating with all levels within Napanee.
- Flexible in order to respond to the needs of the plant and your assignments must be prioritized in order to support the 24/7 operation.
