Title        Technology Team Leader  

 

Description         

  • Plan, organize and direct all technology activities of the Business Center team.
  • Develop, implement, enforce and audit work procedures which ensure quality products at an economical cost
  • Enforces Quality, legal compliance, technical standards of the product, process and material for the Business Center.
  • Drive initiatives that promote the continuous development of Qtech associates.

     

    Requirements    

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or science discipline
  • Ability to understand product specifications and technical data
  • Ability to influence others
  • Ability to train concepts and procedures to others
  • Experience in working with multidisciplinary technical associates to achieve cost effective goals.
  • Equipment design/function experience, along with quality/auditing background is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years industrial manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in leading continuous improvement / optimization initiatives
  • Experience in a union environment (preferred).
  • Requires the ability to direct cross-functional work groups to achieve Business Center objectives, goals, and timelines.
  • Requires strong communication, business, technical, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Experience in understanding and managing budgets and cost accounting practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills
  • Knowledge of customer requirements related to product quality.          

     

    Tasks     

  • Ensure product quality meets or exceeds customer and federal requirements
  • Audit, analyze and make recommendations to ensure systems and processes are followed and to solve for issues related to product quality and uniformity
  • Lead and monitor activities that result in product achieving capability, waste, governmental/environmental standards
  • Establish specifications and calibration standards for equipment (extruder, calendar, curing bladders, etc)  and provide technical expertise as needed
  • Develop organization and associate leadership and technical competencies
  • Execute activities involving continuous improvement tools, analysis of product irregularities, recommending solutions and facilitating cost down initiatives related to improving product costs.  These duties would include training and instruction of appropriate team members and day-to-day floor support.
  • Identify and correct unacceptable performance through analysis and technical knowledge of the product and process including waste and cost reduction.
