Head - OE Sales, Consumer PBU

Reporting dual to the VP – Consumer PBU, India & Director Consumer OE, AP this position is responsible to implement the company OE sales strategy. This includes attaining & affirming the most preferred supplier status with OEMs thereby enhancing GY corporate image & ensuring profitable WBR sales to OEMs within GY guidelines. Key areas of focus are:

  • Share of Business
  • P&L Management 
  • Collections from Key Accounts
  • Maintaining relationship with high volume OEMs
  • Identifying potential opportunities
  • Seeking market intelligence
  • Development of strategic plans by accounts
  • Annual budgeting for OE business
  • Volume: Top  & bottom line
  • Relationship management with OE accounts

 

Principal

Responsibilities:

  • Provide inputs on market potential, pricing; industry & competitor trends; identify priority areas; strategize on growth projections; present sales forecast and sales plans in order to arrive at a robust operating plan.
  • Develop annual sales plan; develop inventory plan & profitable product mix, freeze distribution plan, allocate approved plans to the team; control variances & initiate competitive plans; suggest corrective steps
  • P & L accountability of the channel by meeting profitability (gross margin/profit), inventory/ receivables targets
  • Analyze market information requirements; identify effective systems & processes to be implemented
  • Participate in annual marketing planning & provide inputs on market needs to build strong & profitable brands.
  • Monitor collections status; negotiate terms & conditions with required parties; track projected sales volume vs. actual; initiate corrective steps; provide feedback to planning team in order to ensure profitable sales.
  • Strategize on regional schemes, promotions & seek approval for implementation; monitor trends & suggest options for increase brand performance in order to ensure brand credibility & increase in sales volume.
  • Lead the Automotive Engineering team in project work & case preparations
  • Lead, direct, guide & support team members; review & monitor performance; ensure transfer of knowledge & development of professional talent; be a mentor in order to build a competent and performance oriented team.

Required Experience:

  • Above 15 years of proven B2B sales & marketing experience
  • Proven OE Sales Leadership Experience in Auto (car) industry i.e. Tier 1 suppliers to passenger car companies
  • An understanding of tire industry and products would be a distinct advantage.

 

Personal Skills/  Attributes:

  • Must have experience in budget preparation & a high degree of commercial acumen.
  • Knowledge of business concepts (profit, margin, variable cost, ROI, Price Negotiation / Raw Material Index
  • Familiarity with the OEM approval process
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Able to work in cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.

 

Education:  

  • Preferably Engineer + MBA (Tier 1)
