Primary Purpose of the Position:

 

The Lab technician  is responsible for providing accurate and reliable testing of incoming raw materials, in-process products, and environmental monitoring in support of an ISO 9001-certified facility. It works closely with operations to ensure the production of high-quality, specification-compliant products at optimal rates, while upholding the plant’s safety, environmental, and health standards.
The role requires experience using laboratory instrumentation, particularly gas chromatography with Agilent gas chromatographs and ChemStation software. Additional responsibilities include maintaining lab equipment and supplies to support efficient operations, certifying material releases to customers, maintaining quality records, and conducting quality and environmental audits. This position is critical to the quality department and may include additional duties to meet the facility’s quality and compliance objectives

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide final testing for all products prior to releasing to customers. These tests include melting points, iron content (XRF), and various chromatographic assay measurements using the provided data acqusition/storage software.  

  • Conduct analysis for intermediate product prior to entertaining into finishing & raw materials used in the product as required.                    

  • Provide environmental sampling and reporting as needed. This includes working with city officials to obtain samples and accurate reporting for an ISO 14001 certified facility

  • Maintain calibration records for equipment and certifying standards

  • Participate and conduct internal audits for the QA department. This may include participating in internal auditor training for ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Required AAS in the disciplines of laboratory technology, physics, chemistry or related field

  • Desired BS in laboratory technology, physics, chemistry or science related field with relative experience

 

Experience:

  • 3 years of lab experience preferred.

  • Experience using lab instrumentation, especially gas chromatography with Agilent gas chromatographs and ChemStation Software

  
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possess good analytical skills and knowledge of basic chemistry.

  • Possess advanced computer skills for data entry and trend analysis.

The pay range for this position is GGN07: 48184 - 89487 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
