Primary Purpose of Position:
The Operations Manager will lead/manage the Operations organization in Niagara Falls to achieve the plant's daily and annual production plans in a safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective manner to satisfy customers' quality requirements.
The incumbent will represent Niagara Falls Operations business teams (as appropriate). The position will maintain high quality and productivity standards in accordance to the sales and operating process (S&OP) requirements.
The role will control operating costs and report expenditures for monthly accounting close. The associate will develop/implement long-term strategic plans to ensure the sustainability of Niagara Falls Operations (including process improvements, new product implementation, cost savings, team development, succession plans, and contract negotiations).
The Operations Manager will maintain and comply with all procedures, policies, and regulations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Set, attain, and drive the organization to comply with/support all safety, quality, delivery, process safety management, and environmental initiatives. Hold direct reports accountable for demonstrating environmental, health, and safety (EHS) leadership.

Lead, manage, and coach the Operations teams to achieve plant business goals. Provide leadership, expertise, and guidance to the Operations teams through the implementation of priority elements (i.e., operator expectations, operator rounds, shift handover, etc). Accountable for identifying and recommending industry best practices/technologies to improve operating performance

Develop and implement production plans in accordance with the Chemical Operations S&OP process and the business team strategies. Communicate plans and priorities to the Operations teams to ensure alignment. Coordinate responses to plant production process problems.

Create and manage the fixed cost annual operating plan (AOP). Submit expenditures and accruals to Accounting for the monthly closing process.

Support labor relations efforts to sustain a cooperative environment for achieving business goals. Participate in the contract negotiations effort. Respond to grievances in a timely and professional manner.
Education:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical degree preferred
Desired: Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical degree preferred)
Experience:

7 or more years of experience managing salary and hourly employees, financial responsibilities, and production planning in a chemical plant environment

Experience in driving strategy with day-to-day Operations team

Previous experience in a union environment

The pay range for this position is 102720 - 190764 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
