Associate Category Lead

• Category Strategy: Partners with Category leadership to execute strategy at the commodity level. Leads the bid process - RFI release, RFP development, etc.  Supports negotiation process by providing necessary analytics.

• Supplier Relationship Management: Serves as first point of contact for suppliers related to category of spend.  Supports Category Leads with strategic supplier relationships through data-driven recommendations.

• Organizational & Operational Excellence: Leverages market data through should-cost models and other forms of financial or negotiation strategies.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration/Stakeholder Management: Develops and maintains appropriate two-way communication channel between Procurement and the Commercial Council to ensure exchange of feedback in order to drive continuous improvement.

• Building Organizational Capability: Accountable for meeting aspirational training goals for 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Process and Enhanced Sourcing Tools. Collaborates with peers and leaders within in the Category Team dispersed globally. 



Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related field.

• 1-3 years of experience in a corporate setting required.  Prior experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or a related Operational function preferred. 

• Knowledge required:  Fundamental knowledge of business processes. 

• Skills required:  Organization skills, strong Microsoft Access/Excel skills and/or other database programs, a team player, strong communication skills, influence skills, self directing, and ability to work in a very fast paced, multi-tasking environment. 

• Skills desired:  Strong financial/statistical analysis, foreign language, manufacturing process,

mathematical modeling, international experience, purchasing & technical experience.
