Quality Engineer - Specialist - Mixing

Responsibilities:

• TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY    

- Possess a strong understanding of available technology and standards. Drive and coach others in the use of known technical solutions to meet product and process requirements. Consult with experts on appropriate level of technology. Avoid inappropriate risk. Coach others on processes within a functional group. Drive process improvements across functions.  Collaborate regionally and cross-functionally. Communicate and document effectively, following knowledge standards. Use innovative thinking to improve and enhance product, process, and technologies.

 

• PROBLEM SOLVING    

- Coach others in recognition and identification of problems and proper use of problem-solving tools. Drive tools and methods that are in phase with sound strategies. Use collaboration to solve problems and make decisions between teams and functions.  Effectively use internal resources. Use data driven analysis for effective decision making. Drive and coach others in making decisions.

- Achieve impactful results and improve process/approaches used by others. Coach others on complex problems.

- Drive the use of and coach others in, new data analysis techniques.

 

• PROJECT MANGEMENT    

- Use and promote application of project management tools and standards in the execution of projects.

- Effectively execute steps to initiate, implement and complete projects, while directing and coaching others in the process. Deliver project objective through effective project planning. Project may be cross functional or regional. Develop solutions to identified project risks. Coach others on project risk management. Manage project closeout process, while coaching others.

- Proactively manage project conflicts and develop new methods and coach others on project conflict resolution. 

 

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or relevant experience, desired experience or certifications in the application of Quality control systems, problem solving and project management tools.

4 or more years’ experience w/degree, 9 or more years equivalent experience w/o degree (Degree at management discretion based on position).

Demonstrated ability to teach and apply systematic problem-solving tools and techniques.

Demonstrated ability to understand and troubleshoot equipment and process problems.

Demonstrated ability to apply new tools and techniques to improve existing processes.

Demonstrate and instill positive attitudes on peers. Demonstrate ability to plan and lead meetings at work group level. Initiate open dialogue. Offer constructive disagreement.  Offer alternative solutions. Provide compelling technical direction and logical conclusions.

Achieve high quality results. Hold self accountable for team performance. Influence others and assume management of assigned sub-projects. Address risk in assembling effective strategies. Drive positive change. Be aware of competitor capabilities. Participate in meetings with outside agencies and customers. Provide meaningful feedback and mentoring.
