Area Sales Manager, Aviation Tires

The incumbent will be responsible for developing the sales of Goodyear aircraft tires in the assigned territory in accordance with company objectives.



Key Characteristics:

  • Expand sales growth at new and existing accounts for new and retreaded aviation tires through all of the following distribution channels:
  • Commercial airlines,
  • General Aviation,
  • Military / Government,      
  • Wheels & Brake Shops (WB’s) & Maintenance Repair organizations (MRO’s),
  • Airframe Manufacturers.
  • Manage all account activities that are necessary to protect the interests of the business and maintain and grow sales,
  • Have regular account contact and communication interface, work with key purchasing, engineering and maintenance, accounts payable personnel, etc. at all levels,
  • Develop and execute an annual sales plan that targets share of market growth in all sales channels within the assigned region,
  • Produce and update on a monthly basis the adequate forecast pertaining the region need,
  • Analyze the competition and the market place in the region,
  • Execute administrative and logistic follow up on the orders in cooperation with the Customer Service department,
  • Coordinate/liaise with product support personnel to check that appropriate service support and correct tire care & maintenance are executed,
  • Conduct fleet surveys and product performance and make sure quality issues are addressed promptly.
  • Travel/visit customers and prospects on a regular basis and at short notice when required,
  • Be able to work under pressure for meeting deadlines.


Job Demands:

  • Knowledge:
  • Bachelor’s level degree in technical and/or commercial field, with good understanding of the other discipline
  • Successful selling experience of technical parts – preferably aviation parts - through face-to-face contact,
  • Past experience of establishing business relationships,
  • Solid understanding of distributor policy development and implementation,
  • Strong knowledge of basic marketing and distribution channels and trends,
  • Full understanding of Aviation industry and competition’s strengths and weaknesses,
  • Familiar with commercial contract review and legal language,
  • Used to work in an international, multi-cultural environment.

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and French both in writing and verbally (Other languages would be a plus), 
  • Accustomed to work with computers and modern communication means.

  • Ability to view current business conditions, analyze and envision future needs of the customer and leverage for future business, 
  • Ability to develop and implement business plans and adjust/adapt to changing conditions, competition, etc.

  • Position: Direct report to the Sales Director, Aviation Tires
