Primary Purpose of the Position
Reporting directly to the Team Lead, the Accounts Payable II position has a broad responsibility for proper accounting in assigned area and for exercising judgment and initiative in detecting and resolving problems. This position provides clear, accurate information for managing and accounting for a segment of the business in accordance with accounting principles, government regulation and company practice and policy. These individuals have involvement with compilation of weekly and monthly reporting of receivables and/or payables to internal management and external parties and also involvement in providing supporting documentation for external financial audits as well as Sarbanes-Oxley audits.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Knowledge about GR/IR and different types of blockages: price, budget, and quantity.
- Perform financial reporting processes that support the commercial business. This includes but is not limited to monthly, quarterly & annual financial statement close procedures & account reconciliations all in accordance with predefined deadlines.
- Utilize US GAAP U.S. generally Accepted Accounting Principles) & assist in applying US GAAP to transactions that are accounted for and reviewed.
- Participate with continuous improvement initiatives related to finance processes & systems.
- Document, test & review journal entries systems & accounting processes for SOX.
- Conduct balance sheet fluctuation analysis & provide detailed commentary to explain variances.
Education & Certifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
- Experience: 0-2 years accounting, finance, or business experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Microsoft office Office products, (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge with SAP and Service Now.
- Analytical & problem solving skills.
- Interpersonal skills that establish & maintain excellent relationships & credibility quickly.
- Ability to support accounting/finance decisions with logical evidence & persuasively present position.
- Ability to communicate or present information, both verbally & written effectively with all levels of the organization
