Primary Purpose of the Position

The Pricing Specialist on the North American Pricing Team, reviews and completes incoming price setting requests, deals and rebates for all North America (NA) Product Business Units (PBU): Consumer, Commercial, Aviation, Race, and Mickey Thompson. 

This position will partner with the Sales Enablement/Category and Sales Teams throughout the price setting and rebate process to execute Pricing Waterfall elements and support deal negotiations to execute pricing in alignment with overall Customer and Product Strategies. Additionally, it will support customer-specific rebate creation and execution. The role will leverage data and business insights to guide informed pricing decisions, understanding the impacts of various pricing levers to drive margin optimization and realization.

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills to provide effective business support and proactively seek opportunities to enable better business decisions and leverage data to articulate the impact of previous pricing decisions and influence future pricing strategies.

 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Price Setting, Deal and Rebate Management: Support the pricing strategy by assessing and executing Price Waterfall elements using Vendavo Pricing System (Price Manager Module) to maintain B2B and B2C pricing (MAP, eCommerce). Execute the MAP policy, monitoring, and execution process for MAP enforcement.  Review and complete incoming deals and rebates for all PBUs. Leverage the Vendavo Pricing System (Deal Manager Module) to complete deal/rebate activity.  Provides effective daily operations for the Sales and Sales Enablement/Category Teams.
  • Business Support and Troubleshooting: Provide timely and proficient guidance to internal clients on any aspect of deal and rebate management. Serve as Business Process Expert for pricing execution and systems. Assist Sales and Billing teams with Level 1/Level 2 support for any customer-facing pricing and billing issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Partnership: Collaborate with the Akron Pricing COE, Sales and Sales Enablement/Category Teams during deal negotiations to ensure timely and accurate execution, driving margin realization. Partner with the PBUs to identify new opportunities, enabling the business to achieve its goals.
  • Compliance: Monitor business rules (e.g., Discount Guidelines, Approval Flow) and alert the Sales Enablement/Category and Sales Teams when rules are not followed appropriately. Strictly maintain pricing processes that conform to key Business Controls and SOX Compliance.

 

 

Education & Certifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.

 

Experience:

  • 3 or more years of experience in Sales, Business Support, Operations or related functions in consumer goods organization.
  • 1 or more years of experience with B2B and B2C Pricing.
  • Experience working in a fast-changing environment that requires critical thinking, results-oriented decision making and a commitment to excellence.
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Price Management Tools and Processes (as part of the Pricing Function) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Vendavo and other related Goodyear Systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile and synthesize inputs in order to generate Business Insights.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite;  SAP and pricing systems/tools preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal English skills).
