Reporting to the Regional Plant Optimization Leader - Asia Pacific, this person will lead the delivery of a cultural change process through the implementation of the various pillars of Plant Optimization within our manufacturing location.  He/she will also ensure alignment with Global Manufacturing & Operational Excellence strategies and tactics, in order to ensure a successful and sustainable plant implementation.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • As a key member of the Global Manufacturing Leadership team, you will provide direction and support to all activities related to Plant Optimization.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to the Plant Pillar Leaders on the alignment required between functional activities/initiatives and Plant Optimization deployment approach.
  • Support the Plant Leadership Team in the strategic direction and deployment of Plant Optimization to ensure consistent and rigorous application across the plant.
  • Support the development of a problem solving culture amongst all associates focused on ‘Loss Elimination’ to deliver business results.
  • Plan all activities related to Plant Optimization in alignment with Milliken Plant members.
  • Provide update on progress to various audiences & stakeholders at Global and/or Regional level.
  • Lead and effectively communicate the Plant Optimization process: Pillars House, Pillars Methodology.
  • Track progress of each pillar implementation against master plan and develop contingency/recovery plans necessary to achieve results.
  • Deliver educational materials to all associate in order to effectively implement the various foundations and pillars of the Plant Optimization process.
  • Utilize, coach and guide internal practitioners to deploy Plant Optimization in to the operations as standard work.
  • Engage with regional leadership to ensure Plant Optimization is linked to business objectives and deliver results.
  • Conduct audits to ensure education is being effectively transferred and process is adopted in a sustainable way.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile        

 

  • This position requires organizational savvy, team-oriented behavior and the ability to be a strategic business leader.
  • Understanding and demonstrated knowledge of modern tools - Six-Sigma, Lean, 5S, Value Stream Mapping.
  • Practical, hands-on experience in implementing TPM and Lean Methodologies in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Solid experience and knowledge in TPM pillars (Autonomous Maintenance, Training, Planned Maintenance, Focused Improvement, Quality Management, Early Equipment Management, and New Product Industrialization).
  • Experience in building organizational capabilities within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership.  Strong communication, business, analytical and planning skills. Self-starter with the ability to work well with others, influence to achieve results and assist in building world class teams.
  • Experience in driving and implementing continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Demonstrated Loss Reduction Projects.
  • Must have potential to progress to a more senior global operations position.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to top management, customers and employees.
  • Demonstrated capabilities to motivate professionals to maximum levels of personal and team performance.
  • Requires the ability to direct cross-functional work groups to achieve plant goals and objectives.

 

Education/Experience

 

  • The incumbent will have at least 10 years of diversified manufacturing and operations leadership experience in progressive manufacturing or technology organizations.  Career progression must show clear evidence of sustained outstanding performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through others (typically acquired through several years of increasing experience) and responsibility including a prior leadership and/or senior management role.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
