Category Manager - AP Consumer PBU

Responsibilities:

  • Product Leadership Activities including: Category Strategy & Planning, Consumer Insights Analysis, TMS Analysis, 5 Year Category Roadmaps, RvCC & AOP Category Initiatives, Business Communication & Alignment, and OE & RE Integration.
  • Establishing deep understanding of markets in terms of vehicle population, size fitments, growth drivers, and trends. Analyzing a developing product life cycle plans, including forecasting future consumer and technology innovation needs
  • Analyze product performance across markets, segments, channels, product lines, and SKUs and provide cross-functional management communication on performance and corrective action requirements
  • Manage and participate in product commercialization activity, including hands on project management for key projects and process improvement activities. Lead major commercialization projects 4-5 per annual.
  • Strategic liaison creating alignment with Market, Channel, Product, Technology and Manufacturing 5 year roadmaps to identify and bring consumer relevant innovations to the market. Requires highly quantitative capability and use of planning tools including Consumer Research, Market Segmentation, Product Performance Db, TCP, APODP and R v C.
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering related.  MBA or Masters Degree is a plus.
  • More than 8 years experiences in multiple areas including marketing, category management within FMCG/Industrials sector, product development, manufacturing, or supply chain.  Prior experience managing cross functional teams with strong interface with sales force.  Experience working at a fast pace with varied disciplines and individuals to drive accountability for deliverables.  Experience in budget management and directing investments.
  • Knowledge of category planning/product life cycle and ability to implement marketing strategy within category initiatives. 
  • Ability to manage cross functional teams to move people, processes and strategies to deliver results.
  • Willingness to change and ability to drive changes that improve quality of communications and increase the effectiveness of strategies and plans. 
  •  Key knowledge of vehicle market, tire distribution structures & behaviors, tire technology and software programs such as MS Office tools including Excel, Access & PowerPoint.
