Solution Test Engineer

Primary Purpose of the Position

• Manage the algorithm related projects with autonomous vehicle companies (communicate customers' requirements, expectations, technical gaps, and Goodyear's strategy and technologies)
• Lead data acquisition & analysis for autonomous fleet algorithm development.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the projects and relationship with autonomous vehicle (AV) companies

• Contact customers and obtain pertinent information includes technical feasibility study, expectations, concerns and gaps.
• Communicate the information from customers to global algorithm development teams (EU, NA，APAC) to properly respond customers’ expectations.
• Design and implement innovative demonstrations to show case our technologies and technical solutions to customers.
• Identify and evaluate game-changing technologies and startups to speed-up commercial PBU’s capability to innovate & benefit from white spaces
• Share information with commercial Asia & China VPs and other relevant functions to ensure the teamwork for approvals and customer partnership

Data acquisition & analysis

• Interact with global algorithm teams to plan, setup and execute vehicle testing in China, including proving ground and fleet validation tests
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during testing
• Undertake test data collection, preprocessing and analysis
• Create customized algorithms and apply artificial intelligence, together with global stakeholders, to generate impmentable actions to address customer needs
• Manage innovative solution evaluation & proof of concept operations

Be the first point of contact with fleet customers and service providers:

• Be the customer on-site support to establish service procedure and deploy various service solutions.
• Be the tire expect and conduct regular tire checks. React promptly on all tire issues diagnostics if needed.
• Ensure tire intelligence functionality, monitor data and propose corrective actions with customer.
• Screen and select appropriate service providers and service network for customers.

Educate customers and service providers on the latest GY intelligent tools and procedure to ensure application & feedback collection.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor of Engineering or Science minimum in a relevant field

Experience

6+ years of experience in the tire service industry in all or several of the following areas:

• Data loggers and data acquisition systems like Vector and Racelogic (Must)
• Tire solutions-based operations and/or service process design (Must)
• Tire engineering and testing would be desirable
•  Vehicle dynamics and/or tire technologies is preferred
• Aftermarket service and/or service network building
• Managing customer relationships (B2B customer experience preferred)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong service design and deployment experience
• Good understanding of technology and its related deployment process
• Working knowledge of Automotive logging procedures and equipment
• Working knowledge of commercial & passenger vehicle telematics
• Good communication skill in Chinese and English is a must
• Good customer service and relationship management skills
• Ability to anticipate and translate customer needs into product or solution requirements
