THE OPPORTUNITY – DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

 

Goodyear is looking to appoint a highly motivated, transformational and digital savvy supply chain leader into our Asia Pacific (APAC) business. Driving operational excellence is fundamental to how we win in the marketplace and deliver for our customers. Underpinning Goodyear’s ambitions in the APAC region is our desire to continuously improve efficiency, quality and service of our operations, in particular, our Supply Chain (SC) and Manufacturing (Mfg) networks.

This is a high impact and high visibility role; newly created as part of our commitment to transform our operations through the digitization of our supply chain and manufacturing organization. This person will lead, and project manage the end-to-end digital transformation initiatives in the areas of Planning (Supply & Demand), Logistics & Customer Service, Manufacturing, Master Data Design, Analytics and Decision systems. Our objective is to become an autonomous supply chain and manufacturing organization delivering on cash, cost, service, safety and sustainability targets.

 

This person will be accountable for developing the  digital transformation roadmap, project charters, business case, securing budgets and executing implementation to realize business value and ensure the projects are on time, on budget and on scope. He/She will interface with vendors & implementation partners and provide leadership on the right digital tools to meet business requirement and their deployment in the GY environment. Effective communication, stakeholder and relationship management between the functional areas, BUs and management groups is a critical part of this role.

This role represents the opportunity to transform the digital landscape within Goodyear. He/She will be responsible for elevating the company’s organizational maturity, bringing people and teams together to drive digital supply chain and manufacturing transformation across APAC.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Build the Business

  • Lead and develop a detailed project plan and implementation roadmap, budget and resources required along with a business case for AP Supply Chain/Mfg digital transformation journey. Work with global team on benchmarking and developing solutions.

 

  • Legacy Systems – Supply Network Planning (SNP) Maintenance/ Adoption
    • Drive maintenance, adoption, and incremental improvements of legacy systems to manage current business requirement and create a foundation of future system.
    • Leverage as is systems for other PBUs – COM/Farm/OTR/Aviation
  • SC Digital Transformation in Logistics, Warehousing and Customer Service
    • Roadmap for TMS/WMS implementation in AP
    • Project manage intelligent warehouse in China
    • Develop visibility for end-to-end SC – Tableau/Control Tower to drive operational excellence

 

Build the People & Organization

  • Lead, coaches & develops the Supply Chain & Manufacturing teams across APAC
  • Work with HR partners to develop succession plans for associates to succeed in SC digital space
  • Drive improvements in associate engagement and enablement scores.
  • Develop process, develop people capability. Work closely with the SC capability building team to deploy best practices and system & process in the SC digital space

 

Co-create the Future

Lead the implementation of digital transformational projects across all verticals, collaborating with the Regional & Global SC teams. Partner with the regional SC COE teams on initiatives and take the lead in the digital SC space.

 

  • New System – SC Planning Technology, moving to Concurrent Planning
    • Closely work with various work stream leaders to project manage the implementation and adoption phase
    • Offer Project Management support in AP to drive the implementation of 2 globally qualified solutions – E2Open for Demand Sensing and OMP for Advanced Production Planning & Scheduling (APPS)

 

  • New System – Raw Material MRP
    • Lead MRP raw material implementation for AP region, diagnose the difficulties of not using SAP ECC for raw material planning, and define / implement the resolution to reactivate raw material planning in SAP ECC.
    • Provide guidance, strategic direction, and on-going support for the implementation of a RM MRP Platforms

 

  • Visual Factory & Mfg Execution systems roll-out
    • Work with Mfg leadership (SBU and Global) to accelerate the roll-out of MES systems
    • Drive AP agenda on Visual factory, Paper-less operations & set the stage for factory of the future

 

REPORTING & KEY INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

 

  • The direct reporting line is to the VP Supply Chain & Procurement, APAC with a dotted line to the VP Manufacturing, APAC. Peers include operational and supply chain leaders for the APAC region.
  • Key internal stakeholders and working relationships include the APAC Supply Chain Leadership Team, Global Supply Chain Leadership Team, APAC Manufacturing Leadership Team, the APAC Business Unit leaders, Information Technology (APAC & Global) and the APAC Executive Committee.

 

KEY EXPERIENCES DESIRED

 

  • Functional Leadership – experienced working in supply chain with deep understanding of planning, logistics and manufacturing systems.
  • Business & Technology Acumen – able to work with cross-functional teams and external partners at the intersection of IT, Supply Chain and Business. Demonstrate an excellent knowledge & understanding of the interconnection of these functions including the commercial, operational and performance improvement that exist with a high-performing and harmonized system.
  • Supply Chain & Digital Technology - exposure to technical IT architecture and interfaces required to productionize solutions – AWS/Azure Cloud, Snowflake etc. Experienced in the implementation and adoption of newer supply chain technology solutions –Concurrent planning, Advanced analytics, TMS, WMS, MES.
  • Transformation & Change Management – experienced in leading organizations through digital supply chain transformation and change. Exposure to process and tool design, documentation, training and effectively communicate complex concepts to business stakeholders. Able to affect change and implementation within a complex matrix MNC organization
  • Strong Project Management - ability to influence CXO level stakeholders at the same time work with functional workstream leaders/planners. Excellent at aligning and leading different groups to ensure projects continue to progress. Track record of project design and implementation.
  • Team Leadership – experience in developing and managing teams on a project basis, able to manage and allocate resources across various projects and workstreams.
  • Education - University degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Finance or related field. MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or Digital would be advantageous.
