Job Responsibilities:


  • Develops and implements the commodity bid strategy through analysis of global markets, trends, technology, value chain analysis, costs, SBU needs, long term sourcing plans, etc. to assure that cost, quality, availability, and time to market objectives are met. Develop negotiations, plans and lead/coordinate global supplier negotiations (including contract pricing and terms, etc.).
  • Works closely with the assigned SBUs to ensure regional input (e.g. requirement, strategy, market intelligence, etc.) ready for both global ocean freight strategy or bid strategy development and ensures SBUs global ocean freight strategy execution.
  • Conducts necessary analysis with SBUs to support global ocean freight strategy or bid strategy development.
  • Manages ocean freight procurement operational activities by working with global/regional procurement functions to drive processes design and optimization, systems design, implementation and execution and ocean freight policies change management according to business need and requirement. Leads and be involves in improvement initiatives and projects to deliver transformation.
  • Coordinates all contract related matters including contract negotiations, ensure procurement documents/amendments are complete and in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Leads global council to align the supply chain operations and the procurement department across a wide range of alternate sourcing and new source development strategies.   Coordinates necessary actions to achieve timely execution and compliance to company policies.  Participates and supports Global Category Manager in the facilitation of the commercial council.
  • Owns commodity management processes (i.e. AOP, performance issue resolutions) and stakeholder management. Be the focal point of contact from global ocean freight procurement team for the assigned SBUs.
  • Focal escalation channel for ultimate issue resolutions if necessary and business continuity of capacity supply.


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or Supply Chain Management. Ideally, MBA or MSc in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
  • Minimum of 5 years in commercial experience may it be Logistics or Transportation. Experience in Ocean Freight container or break-bulk shipping will be a plus.
  • Has exposure on working across various regions and cultures.
  • Knowledgeable on purchasing and sourcing fundamentals, commercial contract laws, supplier management, Logistics and Supply Chain processes.                                                                                                                
  • Strong negotiations and/or influencing skills; Good financial analytical and/or problem solving, project management skills, strategic thinking, team player, ability to multi-task and has a worldwide business acumen.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin.
  • Has advanced skill in Microsoft Excel.
