Primary Purpose of the Position:

• Develop, validate and implement new tire products using experimental & predictive approaches in interactions with other functions / departments.

Responsibilities:

• Product development and improvement:

- Uses tire engineering design standards to develop new products and support applied and functional projects.

- Supports implementation of new products in production and maintenance activities.

- Improves and enhances problem solving strategies.

• Process:

- Understand, follow and apply the global design standards.

- Makes improvements to or enhances current processes and tools within functional group.

• Technology:

- Implement latest technologies in product development to ensure premium performance

- Improves and enhance documentation of the created knowledge.

• Standards:

- Ensure product conformity to internal, external and legal standards.

- Knows, improves and enhance design guidelines/standards and best practices.

Requirements:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or any related fields is required (Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or any related fields is desired).

• Minimum 1-3 years of relevant work experience is desired.

• Computer design and modeling experience is desired (Catia V5, SolidWorks or similar)

• Product design experience is desired.

• Knowledge in statistical tools (Minitab, …), basic programing (VBA) is an asset.

• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Ability to define and execute projects within a multi-cultural team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Sense of responsibility, stress resistant and flexible.

• Showing initiative – being proactive.

• Languages

- Fluency in Chinese & English is a must.

- Korean or Japanese is an advantage but not required.
