About the Position

The Application Development Senior Analyst will be responsible for the Global Manufacturing IT Application Support and Maintenance.  This position is responsible for resolving level II incidents globally and maintain server to keep them secure and at the latest version/standard. The incumbent will be expected to understand data relationships (i.e. relational data versus hierarchical data) and should be able to interpret basic system concepts using current documentation standards and methodologies (i.e. flow charts, data flow diagrams, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

• You will provide level II incident resolution in the area of support. You will document issue resolution for knowledge transfer as appropriate. You will troubleshoot, analyze problems, determine the best course of action, and solve problems based upon facts, data, and logical assumptions.
• You will keep production up and running by providing proper incident support.
• You will conduct RCA analysis for production-critical incidents and take preventive actions by collaborating with application owners and other teams in Goodyear if necessary.
• You will handle application upgrades and related tasks to keep GMIT applications secure and at the latest version/standard.

Relevant Technical Skills/Knowledge:

• You must have the ability to question and seek clarification.
• You must have 4 to 6 years of experience in Application Support (Manufacturing industry experience is an asset).
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of spoken and written English.
• You must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills; you will take on responsible roles and accountability for outcomes.
• You must have experience in Linux, SQL, and Oracle.
• You must have knowledge of PHP (an asset).
• You must have the ability to work flexible hours as needed on special occasions.
• You must have basic knowledge of the current Office product suite.
• You must be knowledgeable of the current information technologies (programming languages) needed to support specific business processes.

Desired skills

• Linux Operating System knowledge
• Oracle SQL knowledge
