Primary Purpose of the Position 

This position will be a member of Global IT Risk & Security.  The incumbent will work in partnership with their team members and other parts of IT, to identify and remediate cyber security incidents such as malware infections and perform routine IT risks & security administrative tasks such as granting access. 

Typical activities include investigating malware-infected PCs, determining how the infection occurred, what information was lost, and how to prevent future infections. The position independently handles complex security tasks and provides guidance to less experienced staff

The incumbent will also support IT Risk & Security products and participate in projects that improve the IT risk & security posture of the company. The position requires the ability to work well with others and manage multiple priorities related to a variety of tasks. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the global cyber team via regional cyber coordinator, global infrastructure services, deskside support, and other parts of IT to remediate incidents.
  • Works under minimal supervision. Provides input to project-related decisions. May write proposals and price out projects.
  • Assists others in consulting assignments as requested
  • Works on more complex projects lead smaller projects and perform routine security administration tasks
  • Use a log management tool (Splunk), develop search procedures and dashboards as required to identify and remediate cyber or product incidents
  • Document findings and evidence from cyber investigations
  • Assist in technical support of security-related third-party software, operating systems, or databases. Has developed unique skills and abilities valued by his/her peers.
  • Has detailed knowledge of one HOT skill or basic knowledge of several HOT skills. Troubleshoots basic problems and recommends appropriate action. Uses and applies principles, concepts, and techniques of a HOT skill
  • Develop/modify programs to support Goodyear’s security requirements
  • Identify cyber security weaknesses and gaps in the company and take initiative to enhance the security posture



Job Requirements

  • IT Audit, Cyber security, IT compliance, and/or privacy classes
  • Bachelors degree in MIS, computer science, technology and 1-3 years of relevant work experience or in lieu of degree 6-8 years of relevant work experience in Information Technology. Education or certification in IT Audit, Cyber security, IT compliance, and/or privacy classes preferred.
  • 3 years of experience with medium-to-large enterprise environments preferred.
  • Completed Qualys training courses and/or any Security certification (Security+, CISSP, GIAC, etc.) preferred
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written English skills.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of security design, best practices, and standards such as security hardening.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of network and security technologies including Cloud, VPNs, intrusion detection & prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, SIEM, Antivirus
  • Hold any information security certification(s), such as Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GIAC certifications preferred
