Primary Purpose of the Position

  • Reporting directly to the Senior HRSSC Manager, the position has the primary responsibility of providing efficient and cost-effective Payroll & HR Operations to all divisions/ regions served by GBS, by ensuring timely and efficient services based upon agreed standards.
  • The Payroll & HR Operations Manager will be fully accountable for the overall functional management of the HRSSC Payroll & HR Operations services by ensuring the KPIs and SLAs are met. The KPIs are primarily focused on the accuracy and timeliness of the pay process and HR administration, compliance with controls, and overall employee experience. He or she will lead the stabilization and standardization of business processes and drive continuous process improvements.
  • The role is responsible for the performance management and development of subordinates reporting to this role. He or she coaches, develops, and leads the team to obtain the desired Goodyear results.
  • The role will serve as a key point of contact for regional and local, external, and internal stakeholders to sustain excellent relationships to ensure mutual goals are achieved.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Strategic Initiatives and Compliance    

·        Planning and Execution of Strategic Change - drives and promotes delivery of strategic change programs based on agreed global process initiatives.  Drives and contributes effectively to the implementation of new ideas that deliver process efficiencies.

·        Serve as the primary point of contact for all audit-related matters on the objects under their accountability: SOX, External, and Internal Audits

 

Team Management     

·        Performance management and development of a team as a leader of others. Promoting a team culture that is aligned with Goodyear, GBS, and HR competencies.

·        Define performance standards and conduct performance reviews.

·        Proactive monitoring of the quality of work and appropriate levels of resources to address issues before customers are impacted

·        Coaching the team to continuously strive for improved performance      

 

Operational/Functional Management  

·        Performs ongoing operational analysis to ensure KPIs and SLAs set are delivered and prepare appropriate recommendations and reports for management. Provide the necessary level of review, as needed.

·        Oversees and provides functional guidance i.e. as subject matter expertise on respective Payroll and HR Operations processes

·        Drive operational efficiency with a focus on stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement          

 

Stakeholder Management

·        Lead the delivery of Shared Services Objectives based on the principles of superior customer service, continuous improvement, and best-practice management techniques. Maintains excellent relationships with internal and external customers so as to ensure mutual goals are achieved and up-to-date knowledge of best practices within the Goodyear environment.

 

 

Job Qualifications

  • University Degree in Business, HR or a related field required
  • Graduate of Finance and Accounting (desired)
  • Solid experience in managing a payroll team and time & attendance in a large Corporate environment.
  • Expertise in HR operational management (Benefits Administration and Reporting)
  • Experience in managing high-quality customer service delivery teams (8 - 10 years)
  • Experience in working in a shared service organization required
  • Experience in project management, overseeing and managing projects effectively
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to listen effectively and articulate queries.
  • Good understanding of payroll rules and regulations. ADP and or SAP background preferred. Proficient in Word and Excel. Excellent attention to detail.  Exposure to full end-to-end payroll processes including General Ledger, reconciliations, and audits.
  • High level of proficiency in various computer applications including Intermediate Excel skills                                                                                                            
  • Strong people leadership skills, people development experience, proven ability to lead, motivate and train                                         
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet the deadline
