The Application Senior Analyst is able to apply standard programming procedure and detailed knowledge of pertinent subject matter to a sub-system area. The Specialist will work according to approved specifications. These work assignments may arrive in a less than detailed fashion; requiring further investigation, objectivity and creativity in arriving at a solution. The Specialist must be able to apply knowledge of current technologies and methodologies with business subject matter to develop potential technical solutions.

The Application Senior Analyst will be part of an already established global team working with Solution Manager in a highly complex SAP environment.  Work as a change agent to further implement and support the already deployed single instance of Solution Manager globally, with focus in the Asia Pac region.  Will be a key point of contact for users and key stakeholders to answer questions, give support and aid in recommendations where Solution Manager can solve every day business and IT problems. 

A suitable candidate will work with users and understand business requirements and turn those requirements into working Functional specs.  These changes will need to be clearly communicated to other key stakeholders from around the globe to gain alignment and ultimately implementation. 



  • Maintain, modify and support sub-system or 3rd party components (programs, processes, configuration); all the while working within a larger system scope.
  • Complete unit testing of all work processes.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate. Develop solutions to problems involving causes that are not obvious. Respond to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors that do not have a known cause. Perform tasks necessary to ensure data integrity and system stability.
  • Write and maintain all documentation supporting primary area of responsibility.
  • Apply knowledge of current technologies and methodologies with business subject matter to develop technical solutions. Confer with stakeholders to gain an understanding of the situation requiring intervention. Translate process into practice through the current Information Technology toolsets.
  • Obtain advice from higher-level Information Technology associates when precedents are unclear.
  • Expand use of current information technologies, techniques and processes as they apply to Goodyear. Increase breadth and depth of technical knowledge by expanding knowledge base.


  • Specific knowledge of one or more of the current information technology toolsets.
  • Basic knowledge of the current Office Product suite.
  • Developing an understanding of business process area supported; continued growth in understanding company culture and business practice.
  • Solution Documentation – demonstrate the ability to create a folder structure, upload documentation and manage business processes holistically. 
  • ChaRM (Change Request Management)-
    • Working knowledge of SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN – activating charm for projects (cycles in 7.2)
    • Fundamental understanding of Transport Management and how it interfaces with ChaRM
    • Normal, Urgent, General and Admin changes
  • Configuration and development experience
  • HP ALM integration of blueprint and defects
  • Test Workbench in Solution Manager
  • Working knowledge of Business Process Monitoring
  • Working knowledge of web services
  • Proficient working experience with Solution Manager 7.1 and a working knowledge/understanding of Solution Manager 7.2.
  • ITIL V3 Foundation Certification


  • 4-Year Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related discipline is required. 


  • 4-5 years experience in applying current information technology to specific areas of business. 


  • Associate must be capable of working semi-independently with specified objectives, through interaction with supervisors and stakeholders. Customer relationships should begin to develop through delivery of stable working solutions and follow-up.
  • Associate must possess basic organizational, communication and time management skills. Should have ability to complete assignments on time and with minimal error.
  • Associate must participate as an active team member, practice effective listening skills and effective collaboration skills.
  • Associate must achieve all information technology objectives through use of approved standards and guidelines. Completed work must be reviewed for conformance to standards, timeliness and efficiency.

This position interacts with all levels of Information Technology associates and stakeholders. The position may also interact with external customers to exchange technical expectations or obtain follow-up on testing results.
