The Employment Services Manager position entails providing practical, consistent, and pro-active support, direction and advice to managers, supervisors and employees on complex Human Resource, Employee Relations and Labor related issues. This position will be the point of contact for all employee relations issues; collective bargaining agreement issues; inquiries regarding policies, procedures; work rules and company guidelines for the plant areas assigned. This position will ensure compliance with the current CBA, local, state and federal laws.
This position will help staff the plant with qualified applicants in a timely manner and in the number required. This position will support company initiatives to include employee engagement, succession planning; training; employee development; lean management and other company initiatives. This position will gather and communicate various metrics relating to employee, labor relations and employee benefits.
Job Specific Duties:
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources and labor relations functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Maintains thorough working knowledge of the location collective bargaining agreements and related information.
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions. Organizes and conducts hiring events such as job fairs and college campus recruiting as necessary.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Keeps records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Trains designated interviewers in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Maintains involvement with grievance resolution activities. Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations and labor relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Assists to administer performance review program and merit review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
- Assists in administering salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
- Assists in administering benefits programs such as vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, employee assistance and Accident and Sickness. General knowledge of H&W benefit plans and benefit TPAs.
- Assists in investigation of accidents.
- Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Assists with preparation for labor negotiations, grievance processing, and arbitration hearings.
- Assists with investigations involving EEOC, OFCCP, and NLRB issues
- Performs other job tasks as needed and required

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or other relevant field of study
- 4+ years of progressive HR generalist work experience
- Manufacturing facility familiarity
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- SHRM/HRCI Certification is desirable
- Work experience in high volume, unionized manufacturing plant is preferred
