Maintenance Manager

About the Role

 

Goodyear is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead and manage our maintenance operations at the Aircraft Tire Retread Plant in the Netherlands. The ideal candidate will be responsible for minimizing machine-related downtime and ensuring smooth and cost-effective maintenance activities across the facility.

 

This is a key role in supporting plant performance through proactive leadership of the maintenance team, data-driven decision-making, and close collaboration with production, quality, and EHS functions.

 

On this position you will:

 

  • Lead and supervise the maintenance team (mechanics and mold change personnel) to support plant objectives.
  • Analyze equipment downtime and propose solutions to reduce it at acceptable cost levels.
  • Ensure mechanics are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for major equipment.
  • Create and follow up on maintenance-related procedures and documentation.
  • Coordinate and plan maintenance activities to minimize production interruptions.
  • Communicate effectively with production to forecast equipment uptime and share updates on maintenance progress.
  • Manage procurement and stock levels for maintenance parts and supplies.
  • Maintain a detailed maintenance log and schedule both internal and outsourced repair activities.
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and create a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments (production, quality, EHS) on equipment changes and upgrades.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback regarding safety, quality, and productivity.

 

To join our Team you will need:

 

  • HBO or university degree (e.g., in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance or related field).
  • 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in a maintenance leadership role.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
  • Strong computer skills (Windows, Excel, Word, SAP, AS400).
  • Familiarity with TPM, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of flexibility, diplomacy, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and make clear decisions.
  • Willingness to participate in additional training and development.
