Quality Engineer Senior - CQAE Japan

This position is responsible for driving our product / process quality improvement from OEM customers' point of view and achieve 100% customer satisfaction.

  • Utilize and apply understanding of Customer requirements (internal and external) relevant to multiple process areas. Understands the influences on the Customer from various functions.
  • Develop and manage relationships with OE Customers (internal and external) and drive improvements in Customer satisfaction; appropriately representing Goodyear.
  • Lead all activities with OE supply quality team as the primary contact window person for Goodyear.
  • Ensure the quality of all products prior to the delivery to the OE customers.


Job Responsibilities:

Leading regular audit and review to ensure compliance are met

  • Lead and facilitate the Japanese OE customers' audit and visits to the plants
  • Plan and coordinate with related Dept. on preparations for Customer Visit/Audit
  • Lead to communicate detailed requirements of OE customer visit/audits to all supplying plants in Goodyear.
  • Propose and drive the finalization of action plan with each functions and ensure implementation


Leading the internal and external discussion on any new requirements issued from OEM customer

  • Lead the alignment with mounting shop and OEM's to deal with the special issues.
  • Plan and lead the visit to OE customers' mounting shop periodically.
  • Facilitate the 1st mounting trial for any new production launch.
  • Lead to conduct return tires review from mounting shop monthly


Dealing and leading as key contact to specific customers assigned by QA manager

  • Lead the fast response to OE customers' complaint and also 8D report preparation.
  • Identify and analyze OE Customers' complaints, propose solutions and lead the problem solving to finalize the action plan with relative functions.
  • Follow up and push the action plan implementation in each departments in 8D report as lesson learning.



  • Bachelors' degree in Science/Technology/Engineering
  • Experience or certifications in the application of Quality control systems, problem-solving and project management tools


Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience with Auto industry on quality or engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to apply systematic problem solving tools and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with different culture
  • Demonstrated ability to work under certain pressure and possess sense of urgency
  • Fully understand the OEM Customer requirements
  • Knowledge of Legal, Certification body and customer requirements related to product quality.
  • Understand IATF and VDA requirements
  • Strong English skill in oral and written
  • Requires strong communication, business, technical, analytical, and planning skills.
