Director Trade and Channel Development, Japan
As the Director Trade and Channel Development for Goodyear Japan (NGY), your core responsibilities are to drive superior product, trade, merchandising and retail execution capabilities across the various channels (offline and online) that NGY operates in. To demand generation by delivering share/profit growth via the right activities/investments across brand/digital/trade (at the right ROI). To be the custodian of the brand equity, faithfully executing agreed upon strategies and toolkits for base business & new launches; augmenting it with locally relevant amplification or partnerships/alliances. Be the ambassador of the brand internally/externally. And to build a consumer-centric, data-based, high performing team with a strong bias for action, agility, and results.
Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Demand Generation – develop & execute plans to drive share/revenue/profit growth:
- Strong instore / sell-out programs (consumer promotions, events, etc.).
- Media operations/execution, focusing on driving traffic to stores/conversion.
- Product segmentation and differentiation focusing on our unique value propositions in the marketplace.
- Successfully launching new products, local amplification where needed.
- Be the custodian of the product and channel strategy:
- Partner with the sales team to establish a clear value driven segmentation model for NGY’s channel and go-to-market approach.
- Establish local partnerships/alliances where it strengthens our superiority / premium.
- Ensure faithful execution of agreed brand programs to enhance the value of the NGY business.
- Build the organization (recruitment/staffing/capability).
- Set right objectives / KPIs for the organization.
- Be the advocate for data-based, consumer driven decision making within the organization.
KEY EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree Marketing or related field.
- Desired: Maters Degree/ MBA
- 15+ years trade/channel development experience in Consumer Durables/ Automotive / FMCG companies with focus on local execution/delivery roles.
- Proven results on business delivery & demand generation.
- Strategic leader with experience EXECUTING across consumer and trade touch points.
- Leader in marketing innovation, digital, ecommerce, in-store, and trade channel strategy.

- Intellectual horsepower (highly analytical & strategic)
