Primary Purpose of the Position:
- Achieve cost savings through driving productivity and improvement initiatives (safety, quality, waste, operational excellence, etc.).
- Support plant by interfacing with plant QTECH and manufacturing.
- Ensure process and quality systems integrity.
- Implement new products and processes and resolve product performance issues.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform activities that involve issuing reports, maintaining and interpreting product, process and material specifications related to maintain & improving the product quality within the manufacturing process, and implementation of process improvements.
- Carry out activities that involve facilitating process trials, issuing product, process or material specifications, analyzing data and conducting process & equipment trials related to improving manufacturing capability and competitiveness.
- Execute activities involving continuous improvement tools, analysis of product irregularities, recommending solutions & facilitating cost down initiatives related to improving product cost.
- These duties would include training and instruction of appropriate team members and day-to-day floor support and development of standard work practices.
- Research, analyze, identify and correct unacceptable performance through analysis and technical knowledge of the product process including waste and cost reduction.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree, required.
- MBA Technical, preferred.
Experience:
- 6 + years experience in manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
- A solid understanding of product quality and waste reduction and experience in understanding product integrity.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to influence floor & staff associates in all activities desired.
- Tire specifications, tire construction, manufacturing equipment & manufacturing process.
- Must be analytical & able to organize data & communicate to all levels of organization.
- Statistics, statistical procedures & basic product design (preferred).
