Primary Purpose of the Position:
The Work Execution Management Kanban Scheduler is responsible for scheduling with minimal interruption to production operations. The associate is a liaison between Maintenance and Production to ensure discipline to work on the right equipment and determine the timing for execution in order to accomplish proactive planned work.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate weekly planned work scheduling meetings with Maintenance, Operations, and other supporting departments. Conduct a daily schedule review meeting to determine the schedule status. Review the backlog list, priorities, and “Ready To Schedule” work orders to proceed with the scheduling. Review work orders that require asset or line downtime and coordinate the downtime with the area Production Managers. Prepare preliminary schedule for plant areas by integrating all preventative maintenance work order types and sorting the work orders. Schedule and assign the work integrating both the operations and maintenance needs. Work with the Material Planner to assist in maintenance work schedule status.
- Work with the Material Planner to assist in maintenance work prioritization and scheduling. Align work orders to schedule (resource loading and equipment selection), communicate/publish finalized schedule, and maintain visibility of schedule 7 days in advance. Generate metrics to demonstrate performance and drive improvements.

- Detect/Report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations, and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
- Record time and production information on proper forms.
Education & Certifications:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Lean Technologies, Supply Chain, or related field.
Experience:
- 3 or more years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, and continuous improvement experience.
- Solid understanding of product quality and waste reduction.
- Experience in understanding product integrity and process improvements.
- Experience in a union environment (as applicable).
- Specific experience in tire manufacturing processes - Preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities:
- Ability to influence floor and staff associates in all activities
- Knowledge in tire specification, tire construction, manufacturing equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- Must be analytical and able to organize data.
- Ability to communicate to all levels of organization in all areas of expertise.
- Statistical procedures, statistics, and basic product design knowledge - Preferred.
- Knowledge of elements that make up the inter plant material flow .
- Understanding of product delivery systems (including traditional scheduling systems, Kanban systems, Sequencing Heihunka, Bus Route's, Supermarket or similar systems).
