The Warehouse Material Expeditor position will assist in warehouse operations, and compiles and maintains product inventory and status information and has responsibility for order entry, solving issues related to scheduling, truck problems, and to expedite movement of products to ensure efficient operations by performing the following duties.
Job Specific Duties:
- Develops daily shipping and receiving plans and monitoring progress
- Reads shipping and receiving schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
- Confers with department supervisors to inform supervisors of product status.
- Coordinates staging lanes.
- Directs warehouse staff to expedite transfer of materials from stock area to staging lanes.
- Consolidates rows and pallets for staging and shipping
- Examines material received, verifies product numbers, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked product
- Setting up loads for shipment
- Must be able to conduct cycle counts, sort & palletize
- Must have a general understanding of OSHA guidelines, Lock Out/Tag Out
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a professional office environment as well as in a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate Degree, Vocational or Technical School
- 1-3 years’ relevant work experience (industry specific preferred)
- Must be proficient in using standard office equipment
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP and ETQ document control a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
