Coordonner les programmes et projets qui assurent la conformité environnementale et la qualité requise par les lois gouvernementales et les politiques et standards Goodyear. Évaluer la conformité permet de créer des actions qui adresseront ces problèmes, le cas échéant.

Coordonner les programmes et projets visant à réduire les coûts d’élimination des déchets ainsi que l’utilisation des solvants, en lien avec les objectifs/exigences corporatifs, incluant les audits et l’approbation des fournisseurs

Effectuer des audits tel que requis afin d’assurer la conformité aux lois gouvernementales et politiques et standards Goodyear.

Identifier et appliquer les lois gouvernementales en vigueur. Développer et implanter des systèmes et procédures qui assurent la conformité aux lois et règles applicables. Effectuer des évaluations de conformité et implanter les changements nécessaires afin de s’assurer que les situations soient adressées. Identifier les exigences de permis, calculer les émissions, préparer les implémentations et les soumettre aux autorités pour approbations. Négocier avec les organismes de réglementation en lien avec les permis et conditions.

Réviser et approuver les procédés et les changements de matériel qui ont un impact potentiel sur l’environnement et/ou sur le changement des permis.

Diriger les activités de l’établissement pour s’assurer que tous les permis et conditions soient atteints et complétés. Assurer que les actions correctives et préventives soient prises. Se référer aux lois et règlements à temps et identifier les écarts. Réviser de façon périodique les nouvelles réglementations ou leurs modifications.

Diriger les programmes et assigner des tâches à des zones spécifiques de l’établissement afin de réduire les déchets allant au site d’enfouissement et l’achat de solvants. Évaluer et approuver les fournisseurs via le processus d’audit en place sur le site pour chacun des fournisseurs qui font le transport, recyclage et l’élimination des déchets de l’établissement.

 

Primary Purpose of Position:

  • Direct plant programs and projects to ensure environmental and quality compliance as required by government regulations and Goodyear standards and policies.  Investigate compliance concerns and generate appropriate actions to address.
  • Direct plant programs and projects aimed at reducing waste disposal costs and reducing solvent usage in concert with Corporate goals/requirements including auditing and approval of waste vendors.
  • Write and/or review SOPs and Work Instructions as they pertain to environmental and quality issues.  Create reports and presentations as required for both internal and external needs.
  • Conduct audits as required to ensure compliance to government regulations and Goodyear standards and policies.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and apply applicable government regulations.  Develop and implement systems and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Conduct compliance evaluations and implement necessary changes to ensure all findings are resolved. Identify permit requirements, calculate emissions, prepare applications, and submit to regulatory authorities for approval. Negotiate with regulators on permit terms and conditions. 
  • ISO Auditor of quality system for Valleyfield Plant
  • Review and approve facility, process, and material changes that have the potential for environmental impact and/or facility permit changes.
  • Direct facility activities required to ensure all permit terms and conditions are being met.  Ensure corrective and preventative actions are taken, including timely reporting to regulators, should deviations occur.  Periodically review new or amended regulations for applicability.
  • Direct programs and assign tasks to plant functional areas for reducing waste to landfill and solvent purchased. Evaluate and approve waste vendors through site audits for any vendor used to transport, recycle, or dispose of waste materials generated at the plant. Accurately evaluate and report on all activities associated with Sarbanes- Oxley/FIN-47 reporting and financial requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Technical / Science major or Engineering or Chemistry
  • Bachelor Degree, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred
  • Management or staff position in a mid-size and/or moderately complex manufacturing environment with knowledge of environmental regulations and ISO 14001 environmental and ISO 9001 management systems.
  • Preferably 5 years of industry experience in a manufacturing environment in some capacity related to environmental impact.
  • Approximately two years managing small to medium projects independently and approximately two years of managing large projects with assistance.  Track records of managing progressively large / more complex projects and keep a record of developing
  • Knowledge of government and local regulations and the determination of applicability.
  • Knowledge of Quality management systems.
  • Skills in planning, organizing and successfully completing projects.
  • Capable of managing contractors and consultants and the costs associated with their activities.
  • Solid experience creating and delivering cause and effect analysis. Knowledge of financials - cost and return on investments.
