Inventory Specialist

The Inventory Specialist is accountable for leading the day-to-day inventory accuracy of the Logistic Center and implementation of inventory/quality control/corrective action initiatives as required. This position works in conjunction with Corporate Logistics and Quality Operations along with the local Logistic Center team.

 

Primary Responsibilities #LI-JK1

  • Manage each quality hold/restriction impacting inventory in the warehouse.
  • Research to see if tires have been shipped, verify which trailers, if any, have been loaded and if departed, where to.  Report findings to Corporate Quality.
  • When restrictions are released, review inventory and un-block associated inventory in the warehouse.
  • If hosting an over-inspection or sort in the warehouse, provide oversight/guidance. As applicable, systematically transfer any tires physically moved from the warehouse back to the plant.
  • Process scrap tires as directed by Corporate Quality and/or Customer Service - File paperwork for each scrap tire shipment.
  • Manage quarterly cycle counts and investigate adjustments before posting.
  • Lead the preparation, planning and completion of annual physical inventory.
  • Receive and research for root cause each quality notifications for mis-shipment, making inventory adjustments as needed.  Report findings to Customer Service and Logistics Center (LC) team.
  • Monitor return authorization forms (RAFs) and make sure that they are received within 60 days. Work with Customer Service to resolve any issues.
  • Set-up extended warehouse management (EWM) master data (MAT1 and Pack Spec) for all new tires and maintain bins (as needed).
  • Monitor open in-bound deliveries to make sure it is current - Following-up with LC team if an issue is found.
  • Monitor GR-Zone daily, account for anything that has never been stocked out of the GR-Zone - Following-up with the LC Team if an issue can not be resolved.
  • Monitor work bin daily, following-up on any tires that are virtually there for root cause and take necessary action (inventory audit/write-off).
  • Research any tires found that are not on inventory, research and see if they need to be written-on or processed otherwise (i.e,. gantry down).
  • Enter all blemish skids into warehouse inventory.
  • Set-up Cooper and Mastercraft Mexico blemish orders and provide supporting bill of materials (BOM) and blemish skid information to Customer Service.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED    
  • Experience in Supply Chain or Manufacturing Operations (including  experience in a inventory control, quality or supervisory role)
  • Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP), warehouse management (WM) and radio frequency (RF)-based systems
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and adapt to a dynamic environment
  • Experience managing a team of associates

 

Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience with SAP Warehouse Management Systems
  • Experience with RF-based cycle-count systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Continuous improvement and project management experience - Desired
